Distortion and/or bending are an inherent risk of many heat treatment processes.
We use a mixture of jigging and other ‘best practice’ methods to reduce the risk and severity of any possible dimensional changes.
We straighten many parts during the heat treatment process when it can be done when the parts are hot and prior to tempering to ensure you receive undistorted parts.
Bending and distortion can result from inherent stresses in the material from production and from any subsequent machining operations that have taken place, we can offer advice and solutions that will reduce the effects of the operations on your final product.
In some situations post treatment straightening is required and we have facilities for this as well.
In addition we can provide this service on your free issue components regardless of whether we have performed a heat treatment operation on them.
